Amy Ho, the 2nd
model talent whom qualified for the finals in StyleSG New
Face 2009, winner for the month of May, not only shares
but spelled her feelings in words.
1. A short introduction of yourself and what are you doing
currently (student / working).
I'm born on the 17th of December in Selangor , Malaysia .
As an 18-year-old , I'm the youngest of two daughters in
the household . I enjoy reading and have a strong interest
in psychology of relationships so I would be regularly
seen in book stores getting books touching on the
mentioned subject . My mind is constantly open to new
dimensions of thought . Since last April , I have taken a
break from studying with the decision to adventure
different aspects in life . I wanted to see what the real
world is about and so I ventured out in the working
industry to gain experiences that I would never have if I
continued on my education path . During that journey in my
life , I was lucky to have the support of my family and
friends . Since the break , I have worked in a large real
estate company , as well as a renowned entertainment
company . I learnt the importance of having an education ,
responsibility and at the time , witness how the real
world works . Currently , I'm working as a freelance model
talent . My jobs vary from photo shoots , car road shows ,
mingling jobs , and other related events . I'm happy to
say that I will be resuming my studies this coming October
in SIM , in the hope of graduating with a Diploma in
Management Studies .
2. Is life as a model
talent tough?
Life is tough . Everyday , we are faced with different
challenges that will make us a stronger and better person
. So with no hesitation , the answer to the question is
yes . Being a model talent , I am associated with fame and
publicity due to the exposure I will receive during my
jobs . And not necessarily , a good and glamorous thing .
From the judgment passed on from the general public , to
the critics heard internally from fellow co-workers , to
the indecent proposals from certain clients , and lastly
the standards and principals I have for myself , being in
this industry is tough . But just because it is , doesn't
mean I have any regrets . Not only do I not , I get to
learn a lot and watch myself become a more matured
individual . |
